Paddling on Salt Creek
Steve Sinderson, Salt Creek Steward, leads six to eight trips down Salt Creek a year with Prairie State Canoeists, a local canoe and kayak club, primarily from the Cricket Creek Forest Preserve in DuPage County to Eldridge Park in Elmhurst. He also leads trips originating from the Graue Mill area to the confluence of Salt Creek with the DesPlaines River in Brookfield/Riverside. There are three main reaches for water recreation on Salt Creek. 1. Busse Lake to Cricket Creek (Cook and DuPage Counties) 2. Cricket Creek to Hunter Drive (DuPage County) 3.
